The EWFC will take advantage of the pandemic to take place in a different format.

The EWFC is an annual conference that was started in 2006. It is a small, informal gathering of researchers from Europe, the USA and elsewhere that offers excellent opportunities for in-depth discussion of a small number of papers. Since its debut many outstanding papers in finance have been presented at the EWFC. Past programmes are available at the conference website at the address below.

We plan to use a dual format that takes advantage of the restrictions imposed by the current pandemic.

Physical: We plan to have a physical meeting of a much reduced size (likely, 8-10 people) in an appropriate space.  We will determine the number of people attending this part of the conference, the exact location, and whether it is possible at all, nearer the time in light of the safety measures in place for the Covid pandemic.   The location will be in the vicinity of Megève, France.

Online: We will have an online part of the conference for people who are unable to attend in person.  In order to maintain the informal, collaborative character of the EWFC participation will be limited to presenters, discussants, session chairs and programme committee members.

Both online and in-person participants can participate in all sessions, and are expected to do so subject to time zone constraints. There will be a morning session (suitable for participants in Asia) and a late afternoon session (suitable for participants in the Americas).
